Prediction Of The Coefficient Of Friction In The Single Point Incremental Forming Of Truncated Cones From A Grade 2 Titanium Sheet

The aim of this paper is to analyze the effect process parameters on coefficient friction (COF) in single-point incremental forming process. This investigation may be useful for further FEM analyses where tool-workpiece contact must set appropriately obtain adequate results. was analyzed between a solid tungsten carbide ⌀8 hemispherical ended tool with radius 4 mm and grade 2 pure titanium sheet. As lubricant, 10W40 engine oil used. experiment central composite design 20 runs random order were carried out. influence input factors, namely spindle speed, feed step depth, COF response. Two type equations founded literature have been acquired calculate values. An analysis done initial contact, first full depth stabilized region. Additionally, single components horizontal force (X-axis Y-axis) taken into account. Analysis variance shows that there no correlation factors responses. However, mean model fitted results obtained allows prediction by using vertical component only one component. resulting value workpiece equals 0.4 Eq. (1) forming: 0.656 (2) 0.469.
